How We Got Started
Born in Miami and raised on Long Island, Devorah Kirschenbaum started drawing as a young girl after watching her mother doodling while talking on the phone. She continued drawing and painting into high school, spending her free class time in the art room. She majored in art in college and did some freelance work.
She married and started a family in her late 20’s and put her time into raising her 2 girls. Years later Devorah started working in a home studio drawing, painting, and designing jewelry. Starting with beading and wire work she soon evolved into copper enameling. That evolved into her current medium of glass fusing.
Devorah has found her “true love” in glass art. “The medium is limitless. I must have 10-15 projects in the works at a time as well as a book of ideas”. Her work includes jewelry, home décor, and sculptural pieces. Devorah currently works out of her studio/boutique Art of Glass on Market Street in Apalachicola, Florida.
